Vacation {The Long-Winded Version}

Disclaimer:
This post is for the benefit of those who want to know
and of those I'd like to tell who live in far away lands
(namely people related to me)
If you get bored, stop reading. I promise not to test you :)

Kahului Airport
Check it out: two suitcases and the rest are carry-ons!
We took a night flight from Kahului to Los Angeles then on to Denver. Our seats got shuffled and Brad sat in the middle three seats with the girls-he's so awesome!
When we landed in LA, Chloe says, "Do you know why they call it Los Angeles? Because it's where people get Lost."
(she said the same thing in Las Vegas)

Here we are in Los Angeles Airport. The girls watch more TV in the airplane and airport than they have all year.

Our first stop was Denver where we stayed with Stephanie and her family.

Here we are shopping at Target. I love Target. Maybe a little too much.
{My bank account is really glad we don't have one here!}

Maile and Chloe at the mall

We stopped at the American Girl Doll store. Bailey was in heaven. She did tons of extra chores around the house and read TONS books to earn money for this moment.
It was worth it :)

We went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Favorites were the Pirate exhibit (which we weren't allowed to take pictures in) and the Space Odyssey exhibit (must be genetic).

Girlie Fun

Here we are at Denver Children's Museum

And at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo:

Thanks, guys!
See you in November!

So we were off on our great road adventure.
We headed west over the rockies.

{before we left Denver we picked up a hitchiker who looked suspiciously like me.
I'm not sure why there are no photos of her-maybe I was still wary of her tricky ways.
We came to like her and call her Auntie Laura.}
PS- Laura can you send me some pics of yourself?

This is what Chloe always looks like in the car
because there is always sound coming out of her.

Pit stop heading toward Vail
the restrooms were buried in a good eight feet of snow

In Grand Junction we went to Golden Corral.
We were so excited.
Really.
Where else can you get cupcakes with sprinkles
(which may or may not have been sneezed on):
and also have this be completely appropriate:
(really, completely normal at Golden Corral.)

I had to take this picture because it is one of the few times she was actually quiet.
We shall now call the iTouch the "Chloe Whisperer"

Excellent Antique store.
Brad found it.
My husband rocks.

Like? Not? I still can't decide.

PS is it just me or is blogger taking forever to load pics?
Maybe it just feels like forever because I have about 500 to share...

Ridgway

After spending the day in antique stores we landed in Ouray.
We visited their Hot Springs {heaven!}

This was one of our most favorite places on the trip.
Beautiful, sweet, friendly, and fun.

Goodbye, Ouray!

Week one-done!
More to follow soon (er or later!)
